Pre-Production

The Concept

Before any project can begin production, it is important to recognize the objective of the video and the methods that will be used to achieve it. Fade 2 Black Productions, Inc. offers free consultation with our customers. This allows our producers to gather information and to help you plan an efficient game plan for your video.

Outline

Once we know what you want to achieve with your video, you will receive an outlined proposal that includes tentative schedules, cast and crew details, technical specifications, and cost estimates.  A Producer will be assigned to your project and he/she will be available to answer any questions or concerns that you may have.

Development

Once you approve the proposal and an agreement is set, the Producer will start booking production days and work with you to establish target deadlines.  If a script is required for the production, the Producer or screenwriter will develop it and provide you with drafts or review.  If you already have an existing script, you may use it as long as you provide the Producer with an opportunity to become familiar with it and convert it to shooting format if necessary.

Material Submission

This is when you provide the Producer with any existing material that you would like used in the project (such as logos, artwork, music, or previous footage).  Please make sure that you own the rights to all material you submit. If it will infringe on an existing copyright we will not be able to include it in the video.  You can find a copy of our material submission form here.

Scheduling

Once production details have been agreed upon, the Producer will develop shooting schedules, hire appropriate cast and crew, provide any storyboards or breakdowns if needed, scout and book locations, and lock in any other elements needed.
